Linux


Connecting to Montana Tech Secure Wireless from Linux

This works with Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS and should be a similar process for different Ubuntu releases and different flavors of Linux.

Step 1: Select the wireless icon located on the top task bar (icon may vary)

Step 2: Select eduroam or MTDorms

Step 3: Select / input the following —

Wireless security: WPA & WPA2 Enterprise
Authentication: Protected EAP (PEAP)
Anonymous identity: leave blank
CA certificate: (None)
No CA certificate is required (checked)
PEAP Version: Automatic
Inner authentication: MSCHAPv2
Username: Montana Tech email address (username@mtech.edu)
Password: Your Montana Tech Password

Need help logging in?

You will need your Student ID number (799 number) and your last name in order to retrieve your username and password for the first time. Click here to retrieve your password. These credentials will give you access to MyMTech, E-Mail, Wireless, and any campus computer.
