Moodle Course Lifecycle Policy Creation:


All courses will have a shell for the upcoming semester beginning on the date shown in the following schedule:




UPCOMING SEMESTER

If an instructor would like to begin working with their course before the dates listed above, they can contact CTS Help Desk in order to receive their course shell early.




If content from a prior semester is needed, the instructor can contact CTS Help Desk in order to have that content restored. After course content is restored it is imperative the instructor reviews that content so any problems can be resolved in a timely manner by working with the CTS Help Desk.

Contacting the CTS Help Desk to resolve problems prior to the first day of class is greatly appreciated.




REMOVAL:

Due to space limitations, all prior semester courses will be removed upon the following schedule:

2 WEEKS INTO FALL SEMESTER

2 WEEKS INTO SPRING


BEFORE removal, all courses are archived and moved to a local location by CTS -Information Services

While it is not required for faculty to make a backup of their own course, there can never be too many backups.  Please backup and save your course using the directions located at http://www.mtech.edu/cts/moodle/instructor/courseBackup.htm 

In the event a course is needed beyond the time listed schedule above (for example a student with an incomplete is still taking the course) the instructor should proactively contact the CTS Help Desk to make arrangements prior to the courses removal. Any extensions will be handled on a case by case basis.
