    Volunteer

Volunteer Fair Participants, March 26, 2014

Volunteerism, an important part of the college experience, teaches valuable lessons in community engagement and using education to serve the community. It also allows students to gain work experience while helping community partners to address critical needs.

The skills students obtain from volunteering complement academic performance and can benefit students in several ways:
    • Build resume - employers look for volunteer activity
    • Acquire valuable work experience
    • Gain exposure to the world of work
    • Enhance fundamental skills such as communication, time management, customer service, and more
    • Develop a sense of community and involvement

    Ways to Volunteer!

Volunteer opportunities are posted in DIGGERecruiting.  Each semester, Career Services hosts a Volunteer Fair and publishes a handbook of local non-profit organizations.  Log into DIGGERecruiting or contact Career Services for more information.

Montana Tech Career Services invites local non-profit organizations to the Montana Tech Volunteer Fair each semester. This will be a great opportunity to tap into one of Butte’s most valuable resources…student volunteers.

Volunteers are more important than ever with budget cuts looming over many non-profit and government organizations. The Volunteer Fair is an opportunity to bring volunteers and organizations together in one convenient place. Volunteerism, an important part of the college experience, teaches students valuable lessons in community engagement and using their education to serve their communities. It also allows students to gain work experience while helping community partners to address critical needs.

Whether or not you can attend the fair, you can reach out to Montana Tech students online regarding any opportunities within your organization. Post these opportunities as volunteer jobs in DIGGERecruiting. Students can search specifically for “volunteer” opportunities through their accounts. We will print a list of all posted volunteer opportunities for students to pick up at the fair.
