Sexual   Assault   &   Harassment

Montana Tech is committed to providing an environment that emphasizes the dignity and worth of every member of its community.

Sexual harassment and sexual misconduct (sexual assault, inducing incapacitation for sexual purposes, relationship (dating )violence, domestic violence, sexual exploitation and stalking) are not tolerated. University employees, with the exception of Montana Tech counselors, are required to report disclosures of sexual misconduct to the Montana Tech Title IX Coordinator. Retaliation for reports are strictly prohibited.

Montana Tech counselors are available to provide confidential support and counseling to victims of sexual misconduct. Counselors will outline your reporting options and ensure you receive support and advocacy throughout the reporting process.

Safe Space is our community resource and is available to provide assistance and support to victims. Safe Space provides shelter and advocacy services. They can be contacted at (406) 782-9807 (office); Crisis Line: (406) 782-8511; Toll Free: 1-877-335-8511 or e-mail safespacebutte@gmail.com. A Safe Space Representative is also available every Monday from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Highlands College during the 2014-15 academic year.
