How To Apply

REGISTER FOR CLASSES

International Freshman

Registration for new students opens in early June and continues throughout the summer until classes begin. Students are encouraged to register early as some classes fill up faster than others.

Prior to registering for classes, students need to review their “Application Status” in OrediggerWeb and submit any missing items from the requirement checklist. For complete instructions on how to use OrediggerWeb, visit the On-Line Resources section of the website.

After all of the admission requirements have been received, you may contact your academic advisor via e-mail to get registered for classes. Instructions on how to find your advisor are also available on the On-Line Resources section of the website. If you cannot reach your assigned advisor, you may contact the following representatives for assistance:

Non-Engineering Students

If you received notification that a Compass Exam is required to complete your admission file, we do not have enough information about your academic preparedness to register you for classes. You will be required to take the Compass Exam upon your arrival to Montana Tech and then we will register you into the classes for which you are prepared. The Compass Exam is a Math and English placement exam and is administered in English.

If you intend on enrolling in Montana Tech after you have completed the English Language Institute or some other English training program, we will register you into your classes once you have successfully completed your English instruction.

International Transfer Students

Registration for new students opens in early June and continues throughout the summer until classes begin. Students are encouraged to register early as some classes fill up faster than others.

Prior to registering for classes, students need to review their “Application Status” in OrediggerWeb and submit any missing items from the requirement checklist. For complete instructions on how to use OrediggerWeb visit the On-Line Resources section of the website.

Within 10 working days of your admission file being complete, a Montana Tech Transcript Evaluator will review your transcripts and determine which credits will transfer in to your chosen degree program. Once the evaluation is complete, you will be notified in writing about the number of credits accepted, the use of those credits in satisfying the general education requirements in your program of study, and the process for reviewing the transfer classes for possible use in the your major, minor, option, or certificate. For a complete overview of the transcript evaluation process, visit the Transferring Credits section of the website.

Once you have received your completed transcript evaluation, you may contact the assigned department representative for your major to get registered for your classes. If you prefer to work directly with your academic advisor, you are welcome to contact them, but keep in mind that they may be engaged in field research or consulting work over the summer and have limited access to the resources needed to complete your registration. Instructions on how to find your advisor are available on the On-Line Resources section of the website.

See the Summer Registration Department Representatives list for assistance.
