HCI 4206 – PUBLIC HEALTH INFORMATICS
The governmentally-based health care system (Public Health) is important in the assurance and assessment of the quality of health care delivered in the US. The course covers the challenges and the opportunities associated with technology implementation in the public health system; examining the political, information systems and project management concepts associated with health informatics programs put into operation in the public health sector.  Online tools will be used extensively to support collaboration both inside and outside the classroom, giving students substantial exposure to the technologies supporting group work.  Pre-requisite: HCI 3106 or consent of instructor.
