Montana Tech of The University of Montana is accredited through the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). In spring 2010, Montana Tech was visited by a NWCCU Evaluation Committee concluding the 10-year accreditation cycle. Following this visit, Montana Tech began addressing the revised NWCCU standards within the revised oversight cycle.
In the new seven-year cycle, Montana Tech will address the following five standards:
- Mission, Core Themes, and Expectations;
- Resources and Capacity;
- Planning and Implementation;
- Effectiveness and Improvement; and,
- Mission Fulfillment, Adaptation, and Sustainability.
In spring 2011, the Accreditation Steering Committee (ASC) submitted Montana Tech's Year One Report for Standard 1. In spring 2014, Montana Tech’s Year Three Report for Standards 1 and 2 was submitted and followed by a remote visit. In spring 2017, Montana Tech’s Year Seven Report for Standards 1 through 5 was submitted and an onsite visit is scheduled April 18, 19, and 20. The accreditation reports represent the efforts of faculty, staff, and students.
